Sarah grew up in Nottinghamshire, England and graduated with a Master of Chemistry degree from Durham University in 2007, completing her final year research project at the University of Santiago de Compostela, Spain. After her undergraduate degree, she worked in industry and also the charity sector in the UK and Mexico before returning to academia as a PhD student at Heriot-Watt University, Edinburgh. She completed her PhD in 2015, studying Pd(II)-catalysed oxidative Heck reactions and CH functionalisations under the supervision of Dr Ai-Lan Lee. She joined the Bradley Group in October 2015 as a Postdoctoral Research Associate and is working on developing smart polymers for use in biomedical applications.
In her spare time she enjoys sport and outdoor activities, playing the violin and spending time with friends.
