Hongyan Xia was born in Anhui Province from China in 1991 and got her Ph.D. degree in 2017 from the University of Science and Technology of China under the supervision of Prof. Gang Zou, with the thesis entitled “Stimuli-Responsive Properties Study of Spiropyran Substituted Polydiacetylene Functional Materials”. Afterwards, she worked in the Guangdong University of Technology in the research group of Prof. Kang Xie, in this period, her research focused on designing and preparing stimuli responsive polymer fluorescence materials, and the development of different fluorescent microstructures for studying and fabricating smart flexible photonic devices. Also she won the competition of multiyear Grant from National Natural Science Foundation of China and Natural Science Foundation of Guangdong Province. She undertook these projects as principal investigator. She prepared for the establishment of laboratory actively and purchased a lot of experimental equipment. She joined the Bradley group in March 2021 as a Post-Doctoral Research Fellow funded by the European Research Council Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions and is currently working on the project ”Programmable polymer microarrays for tunable and flexible displays”,
In her spare time, she enjoys reading, cooking, doing some exercises, sharing moments with friends and family.
