Qilin was born in Sichuan Province, China. He attended the ‘3+1’ joint chemistry BSc degree programme of Nanjing Tech University with the University of Sheffield between 2015 and 2019, and received BSc degree in 2019. He then studied MSc Polymer Chemistry in the University of Warwick from 2019 to 2020 and obtained MSc degree in 2020. During his MSc project, he worked on synthesis and investigation of amphiphilic polymer nanoparticles containing arsenic-corona-functional groups for potential biomedical applications, which broadened his knowledge of polymers in bioscience. After graduation, he began PhD in Bradley Group in January 2021. His current research is about synthesis and exploration of polymers for cell imaging, cell adhesion and/or cell surface modification.
In leisure time, Qilin likes playing mobile games, watching videos and listening to music.
